Creating a new medication
Using the medication lookup window
Click new.
Medication lookup window default opens.
Select from your favorites list or search the medication name in the search bar.
Click ok.
- Make any edits if applicable.
- Click save.
- Click print prescription.
Once the practitioner has generated all the medications,
click print prescription, it will ask if you wish to print all of today’s
medications.
Click applicable response.
If the doctor prefers not to have the search box open when
clicking ‘new’, select the checkbox at the bottom, ‘Don’t auto-open medication
lookup window’. (This is a per user preference).
Manually typing medication in
- Click the meds tab on the patient chart.
- Click new.
- Manually type the medication into the name field.
- Or select from the dropdown of the search bar, this will show the clinics commonly used medications for the last 90 days.
- First prescribed date will populate the first
time that medication was prescribed for this patient.
- Last prescribed and active date will both
populate to today’s date.
- Status will default to active.
- Allow substitutions will default to ‘Y’, select
applicable response in the dropdown if different.
- Doctor will default to the practitioner creating
the medication.
- Fill in any additional details.
- Enter the dosage into the dosage details line and enter any
instructions to share in the text box at the bottom.
- Click save.
- Click print prescription.
Printing multiple medications on one page
Click the print prescription.
It will ask if you wish to print all of today’s medications.
Searching for a medication
- Click new.
- Click the three dots at the end of the name field, the
medication lookup window will open.
*Note there are icons next to the two new medications, this
means they are today’s medications. This icon will disappear tomorrow.
