Customizing Referral Management dropdown items

Customize referral management items to align with your workflow to manage patient referrals most effectively.

Setup > Add Item Types

            

 Select “referral status”, “referral specialties”, “referral priority” or “referral method” to customize details.


Referral Status:

Existing items will appear in the items list.

To add new statuses to suit your clinics workflows:


  1. Click ‘Add item’
  2. Enter an Item ID (this can be letters or numbers).
  3. Type in the item to appear in the dropdown for referral status.
  4. Prime ID will order the items based on the numerical value given.
  5. Select applicable radio button (Active-will be included in the totals for incoming and outgoing referrals; Inactive will not be included in the totals for incoming and outgoing referrals).
    1. Usually, the statuses that require no further action are marked as inactive.

Example: 'Completed' marked as inactive is not included in the outgoing total.


To remove statuses that are not applicable:
  1. Click it to highlight the status.
  2. Click ‘Delete’.
  3. It will ask if you are sure, click ‘Yes’.
  4. If the status has been applied to a referral, it will not remove the status.
    1. Consider placing the Prime ID higher than the rest, it will move it to the bottom of the list.


Referral Specialties:

Existing items will appear in the item list.

To add new specialties to your list:

  1. Click ‘Add item’.
  2. Enter an Item ID (this can be letters or numbers).
  3. Insert the item to appear in the dropdown for referral specialty in the 'abstract' column.
  4. Enter the order number according to where in the list to place it.


To remove specialties that are not applicable:

  1. Click it to highlight the specialty.
  2. Click ‘Delete’.
  3. It will ask if you are sure, click ‘Yes’.
  4. If the specialty has been applied to a referral, it will not remove the specialty.
    1. Consider placing the order # higher than the rest, it will move it to the bottom of the list.

 

Referral Priority:

Existing items will appear in the item list.

To add new priorities to your list:

  1. Click ‘Add item’.
  2. Enter an Item ID (this can be letters or numbers).
  3. Insert the item to appear in the dropdown for referral priority in the 'abstract' column.
  4. Enter the Prime Id according to where in the list to place it.


To remove priorities that are not applicable:

  1. Click it to highlight the priority.
  2. Click ‘Delete’.
  3. It will ask if you are sure, click ‘Yes’.
  4. If the priority has been applied to a referral, it will not remove the priority.
    1. Consider placing the Prime Id higher than the rest, it will move it to the bottom of the list.

 

Referral Method:

Existing items will appear in the item list.

To add new method to your list:

  1. Click ‘Add item’.
  2. Enter an Item ID (this can be letters or numbers).
  3. Insert the item to appear in the dropdown for referral priority in the 'abstract' column.
  4. Enter the Order # according to where in the list to place it.


To remove methods that are not applicable:

  1. Click it to highlight the method.
  2. Click ‘Delete’.
  3. It will ask if you are sure, click ‘Yes’.
  4. If the method has been applied to a referral, it will not remove the method.
    1. Consider placing the order # higher than the rest, it will move it to the bottom of the list.
