Distributing credits

If a patient has credits, or is transferred credits, they need to be applied to specific invoice(s).

In the above example, Jake Young received a credit of $25, to apply this to an invoice, there are a few options.

  1. Open Jake’s client card and click ‘acct summary’.
    1. Open the payment summary tab.
    2. Click ‘Dist. Credits’.

    1. Select the company from the dropdown.
    2. Highlight the credits at the top.
    3. Select the invoice from the bottom to apply the credits to.
    4. Click ‘distribute credits’.
    5. Open the invoice summary to see the credits applied.

      2. Directly from the invoice entry window.
    1. Open the Invoice Entry window.
    2. Load a practitioner in the doctor drop down.
    3. Choose a client in the client lookup window.
    4. Enter information as usual on the invoice.
    5. Click payment or print the invoice.  If credit exists for the patient, the distribute credits window will appear.
    6. Select the credit you want to redistribute.
    7. Select the invoice from the outstanding invoices area.
    8. Click on distribute credits.
      3. From the payment entry window: 
    1. Click on billing and select ‘enter payment’.
    2. Search for the patient and select the company.

    1. Click on ‘post’.
    2. A warning message appears “this will distribute outstanding credits for this payer. Continue?’ Click yes.
    3. All the credits will be applied to the oldest invoice first, until all credits have been applied to outstanding invoices.
