Introduction to Nexus AI

Introduction to Nexus AI

Nexus AI is an AI technology that listens to patient encounters, whether that is in person, or virtually, it then generates accurate clinical documentation, such as chart notes, letters and patient summaries.

Using Nexus AI will allow practitioners to focus on the conversation with the patient in front of them, while the software generates a draft of the encounter saving the practitioner time.

Accessing and logging into Nexus AI from Healthquest

Go to the Nexus AI log in website, Nexus, Log in and check off remember me for 12 hours, this will prevent having to log in and out throughout the day.

Reasons to use Nexus AI

  • Save you time during the day to do charting for encounters by using ambient scribe.
  • Allows you to focus on patient interactions instead of making notes on the computer.
  • Offers the ability to generate not only chart notes, but letters and patient summaries as well.

Click here for real stories of how it saves up to 2 hours a day in work.

Functions of Nexus AI

  • Enhanced note quality.
  • 75+ prebuilt template options.
  • Creating custom templates to match your workflow needs.
  • Select from 35 different languages to scribe from and transcribe to.
  • Referral letters and patient handout documentation.

Creating a new encounter

Click the Nexus icon to open the AI window, followed by the ‘Create new note’ button on the left side of the Nexus window.

Enter patient’s initials, or the chart number in the EMR into the Patient name line at the top, so if you are not copying to Healthquest immediately, you will know who the encounter belongs to.

Select the template of choice, whether it is a chart note, letter, or patient summaries, from one of 75+ templates available.

Click the microphone icon in the bottom right corner. A pop up will ask if you have obtained consent, select applicable response.

Click “I have consent” it will start the recording, allowing you to stop recording with the red stop icon in the bottom right.

Click ‘I don’t have consent’ it will not allow you to record the encounter, and you will have to document manually without the assistance of the ambient scribe.

Once the encounter is complete click the red stop icon in the bottom right corner. The encounter will then scribe and appear in the notes box.

Click on “copy and mark reviewed” to move it into the chart note within Healthquest, open the chart note in the patient’s chart and right click to paste or ctrl + v.

Note* If you use a SOAP template with separate boxes within Healthquest, you will need to cut and paste from the one box it will paste into from Nexus AI.

Settings

  • Language selection

Select from 35 different languages Nexus AI can listen to and translate, letting the encounter occur in the most comfortable language for both patient and practitioner.

Click the settings icon in the bottom left corner to select up to four different spoken languages, the conversation could be mixed half English and half French, it will capture all of it and decipher between them.

There is also a selection for the language of the note, this is what the scribe will generate in that can be copied over to the chart note for official documentation.

  • Template selection

As shown above, it is possible to set the default template that is used most often saving you from selecting it every time.

Tip* To save scrolling to find the same template all the time, set up the default template to be preselected for each new encounter. Click on settings, then at the bottom select the template from the dropdown and click save all settings.

Tip* If regularly using a few different templates, setting them up as favorites, they will appear at the top of the list, directly below the default, when selecting a template in the new encounter.
