On the ‘doctor view’, messages from
pharmacies can be found under the PrescribeIT tab.
The list of messages will
default to the status ‘For Review’ on the left side.
All messages can be found in
the top section, the highlighted message will appear in full below it.
The name of the pharmacy,
patient name, and medication are all highlighted for clarity, and quick access
to the patient’s client card.
Review the message or prescription
request details, patient name, medication, and pharmacy.
Practitioners can receive many different
types of messages.
Message – Communication message
between pharmacist and practitioner.
Fax delivery – Message/prescription
was sent to the pharmacy by PrescribeIT via fax.
Error – Task generated an error;
details will be noted in the message.
RX renewal request – Pharmacy
is requesting a renewal on behalf of the patient.
RX dispense notification – Medication
has been dispensed by the pharmacy.
Cancel RX request approved – Pharmacy
approve the request to cancel RX from practitioner.
Cancel RX request denied – Pharmacy
decline the request to cancel RX from practitioner.
Cancel RX remaining fills
revoked - Pharmacy approves the request to cancel RX remaining refills from
practitioner.
Messages may have a high urgency; these
will be identified with a red box and a white exclamation mark in it.
Depending on the message type, the displayed
action buttons will differ.
RX renewal requests
Redirect – Opens list of Providers
within the clinic to re-route.
Approve All – Renews all
medications on the request, updates the chart, and sends response back to
pharmacy.
Deny All – Sends response back
to pharmacy denying all renewal requests.
Respond to Request – Opens the
patient chart to the medication, allowing comments to be added prior to
sending.
Print – Opens the print window
to print the current prescription request.
Archive – Moves the current
message to the archived folder, use this for those that require no further
action.
Fax delivery
If a new prescription, renewal request, or cancel
request fails to be sent electronically, PrescribeIT® will send the message to
the pharmacy via fax. The prescription’s status will be set to ‘sent as eFax’.
Message
Reply – Opens a blank message
box to type a response to send back to the pharmacy.
Archive – Moves the current
message to the archived folder, use this for those that require no further
action.
Delegate – Give the option to
transfer the message to another practitioner within the clinic.
If there are attachments to
this message, the attachments button will be available, showing the number of
attachments in brackets. Click to open attachments.
Error
If an outgoing clinician communication or renewal
response fails, the message will appear in the For Review section in red. From
here, you can open the message and try resending the message or response.
The other option would be to archive the
error message and resend the message from the patient’s chart or the doctor
view.
