Refunding payments as credits

To refund a third-party payment, open the client card for the patient the payment was applied to.

  1. Click the ‘acct summary’ button.
  2. Open the invoice summary tab.
  3. Highlight the invoice to refund.

  1. Click refund/return.
  2. Select ‘create credit on payer’s account.
  3. Enter the number of returns.

  1. Click save, a warning message will appear, click yes.

*Note, this credit is saved in the third-party records NOT the patient’s credits.

 

Using third party credits

As a new invoice is generated and directed towards the third party with credits, applying those credits is as straightforward as clicking payment from the invoice entry window.


The system will identify there are credits for this third-party and open the distribute credits window.
  1. Select the credits available from the top.
  2. Select the invoice to apply the credits to from the bottom.
  3. Click distribute credits.

 If the person creating the invoice is not the person applying third party payments the distributing of credits may need to happen after the invoice has been generated.

  1. Open the third-party record to see the credits available. (Admin menu > edit third parties).
  2. Search for a third-party.
