Self check-in introduction

Self check-in introduction

When utilizing self check-in, staff members can dedicate their time to essential tasks that require a present person, such as cleaning rooms and escorting patients to exam rooms. This approach prevents situations all staff have been caught in: a prolonged conversation with a patient while others depart, resulting in an empty room and a practitioner waiting for their next patient.

Self check-in can be set up using clinic owned tablets that are handed to the patient, or presented at a kiosk, allowing them to check-in and verify demographic information, changing their appointment status in Healthquest to ‘arrived’.

The other option is to print QR codes to post on the walls, allowing patients to scan on their personal devices to go through the self check-in process either by logging into their patient portal account, or by confirming their identity.
