Incoming - Daily use of referral management
Open Referral Management

Select
each referral status on left hand side, one at a time.

Triage
|
|
Open the referral, review the attachments, determine if it is
accepted or declined; change the status of the referral accordingly. Adjust
the employee or jobclass to team member booking appts/contacting patients.
Click Save.

Goal for the status-By the end of the day
this should be empty.

Accepted
|
|
Open referral once the due date
turns red, determine if patient is being booked now or is going on a waiting
list.
- Booking
immediately - book appointment, notify patient, document notification,
change due date to one month after appointment date.
- Waiting list - Make a note of waitlist
length in referral notes, change due date to when the schedule is
available.

Goal for the status-No Red referrals by the
end of the day.

Declined
|
|
Open
referral and chart, create declined letter and send to referring provider.
Change status to returned, save and close.
|
|
Goal for the status-No referrals by the end
of the day.
|
|
Booked
|
|
Open
referral and chart, check to see if there is a consult report that is sent
back to referring provider.
- If
yes, change status to completed, save and
close.
- If
patient missed appointment, send status letter back to referring
provider. Change status to missed, save and
close.
- If
patient seen, but no consult yet, check with provider for a completed
consult, change due date a few days to give the provider some time to
complete.
