Outgoing Referral Process

Dr. Steps

  1. Dr. Creates referral letter.
  2. Click 'New Ref'.
  3. Select reason for referral from the dropdown, search by starting to type in the box, or type the reason manually. (Optional, but recommended)
  4. If supplementary documentation is required, make a note of them in the 'referral notes' section.
  5. Click Save.


 If using a form instead of a letter:
  1. Click Save w/Ref.
  2. Select New Referral and Ok.
  3. Assign to a jobclass, or specific employee.
  4. Type in the reason for referral. (Optional, but recommended)
  5. If supplementary documentation is required, make a note of them in the 'referral notes' section.
  6. Click Save.


Additional steps the provider or the referral staff can do. 

Add any documents that are pertinent to the referral, such as a letter/form and any other applicable documents.
    1. Click on the paperclip.
    2. Select document type, such as scan, or letter.
    3. Highlight and click add, the document name will appear on the right-hand side. (The document will remain on the patient chart as well).
    4. Save.

All items are now attached to the referral for easy management.
